Do I need to use a stop loss?

Stop losses are mandatory on all trades places on all INSTANT FUNDING programs. We advise that you place your stop loss BEFORE executing the order, however we do allow up to 60 seconds from when the trade is executed.

Stop losses are not mandatory on all EVALUATION programs.

The most common reason for account breaches can be attributed to poor risk management practices. Traders who build long term consistency become skilled at cutting losses short whilst letting their winners run.

The FTUK Account Protector is an automated risk management tool which promotes traders to always be aware of their downside risk.

How It Works

The Account Protector monitors the equity on open trades and functions in two ways. It will automatically close any trade(s) where exposure on a single trading instrument has exceeded more than 2% of the starting balance. If the open PnL for the account equity drops below 2% of the starting balance it will close all open positions.

Both instances are considered soft-breaches on the account. If the Account Protector does close any of your trades you are free to continue trading without restrictions.

How The Account Protector Benefits The Trader

The Account Protector prevents traders from carrying large ongoing losing positions as they build their account balance. Often the target level on the account can be achieved but a large open loss prevents the trader from moving forward and scaling up. They are left hoping and waiting for the market to finally turn back in their favour.

Do I need to be consistent in my trades?

FTUK traders should demonstrate logical risk throughout their trading month. We do not limit your risk or lot size on situations. For this reason, you are expected to use consistent risk throughout each trading month. We ask our traders to adhere to the following guidelines:

Traders should use consistent risk each day.
Traders should use a consistent trading style throughout their trading month. You may also choose to use multiple styles, but if so, this pattern would also need to be consistent throughout the month.
Traders should not increase their risk drastically at any point.

What happens if we find inconsistencies?

You still receive your pay-outs. However, we will review your performance with you to iron out any issues and help you to grow faster. We do not punish you for inconsistent behaviour, we simply need more time to assess your trading skills.

Why is there a Payout Locker?

One of the most crucial aspects that many traders overlook is the necessity of efficient risk management with a focus on generating consistent profits.

We have encountered numerous traders who recklessly gamble with their earnings and show no sense of responsibility.

Traders who are only here for quick gains without following a long-term strategy and effective risk management are not the type of traders we look for at FTUK.

We firmly believe that companies should prioritize protecting their capital as it is in nobodies interest to reach the maximum drawdown limit.

We have stayed open and thrived in a field where many of our competitors have closed down.

When does the payout locker take effect?

The Payout Locker will only kick in when:

The trader has achieved a profit target of 10%.
The trader's account has been approved for scaling up.
14 calendar days have passed in the new level.
The trader's account is in profit, and their share is at least $250.
The trader has requested a payout.
The trader has read, and accepted the Payout Locker terms and conditions that are presented at the time of request.

What does the Payout Locker do?

If the trader chooses to make a withdrawal, the default drawdown limit will be automatically moved to equal that of the starting funded balance of that level for the remaining duration of trading activity on that new level.

Can I trade the news?

Trading within 5 minutes either side of major news releases is prohibited.

If a trade is opened, modified or closed within 5 minutes of any of these data releases, it may be considered a soft breach and your profits could be removed from your account balance.
